Join us this February for our first annual Cabarete Futbol juggling competition. We will be hosting the competition on Cabarete Beach during the Master of the Ocean event. Everyone is welcome to sign up. The categories are individual and team. All proceeds will go towards buying soccer cleats and gear for the remainder of our players.
Here we present you with the first goal ever scored by Cabarete Futbol. Last weekend we got the chance to play our very first game against another team and here is one of the four goals that we scored! Enjoy.
While we wait check out a quick video shot with the GoPro. For the players that show up early to practice we tend to play some mini games while we wait for the practice to start. This time around we had 3 teams of 2 and a goalie playing on half of the field.
On Sunday we took 30 of our players to El Choco to play against a local team. This was our first game against another team and our players loved it. We did lose 4-7 but all of our players spirits stayed strong and their love for the sport and team grew. We will be posting pictures and videos of that soon. Stay tuned!
We have once again changed our practice times to better suit the schedules of our players. You can find us practicing Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm in the Callejon De La Loma, Cabarete. Hope to see you there!
On Saturday our players did some passing, dribbling and shooting drills. Now that school is out we have players coming throughout the week to play soccer. A minimum of 6 players is required to start and they organize the games and practices from what they learned during the weekend. This is a great way to have them work together and be a team.
Cabarete Futbol would like to extend a very special thank you to George Coutu for building shower as well as bathrooms for Cabarete Futbols use. After a long hot day of playing soccer in the dirt it’s nice for the kids to jump under a refreshing shower. There are four showers located outside the structure and 2 bathrooms inside the building. Pictures will be uploaded soon!
Last Sunday the kids worked on there cardio as well as some pass/shoot drills. If you have kids, feel free to come by with them and check out one of our practices. We are sure you will like it and we would love to have additional players!
Last Sunday we worked on ball control as well as target practice. At the end of the practice we had a small game which involved only 3 touches per teammate to encourage them to work together and pass the ball.
